About the project
We helped Cardinia Shire expand and improve Cockatoo Kindergarten.
They expanded the kindergarten room and upgraded the children鈥檚 bathrooms. The community room was turned into a second kindergarten room. They also increased the play space outside. This improves access and better connects the indoor and outdoor areas.
This upgrade allows the service to offer kinder to up to 67 children at a time, an increase of 35. It may be able to enrol more local kids by spreading classes throughout the week.
This will help expand Victoria鈥檚 2 years of free kindergarten, as part of our Best Start, Best Life reforms.

This project received up to $904,000 as part of the Building Blocks Partnership between the Victorian Government and Cardinia Shire Council.
